If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to work as part of a small team in a new and innovative division of an International business, then this role could be your next move.

My client has recently set up an operation to buy and manage the reprocessing of catalytic converters which are being extracted from "end of life" vehicles. The market for this business is unlimited as it has been the law since 1990 that all vehicles in the UK are fitted with these converters to reduce emissions. The precious metals contained within these scrap catalytic converters make them a highly valuable commodity and therefore present a fantastic opportunity to build a business recycling them. Joining the team and based in Sharpness now presents an excellent chance to play a key role from the start.

From day one, you will shadow the Catalytic Converter Manager in order to learn all aspects of the business. Buying from existing suppliers, canvassing for new suppliers, grading and handling deliveries as well as general office administration will all be part of the role. The grading of converters is a physical job and involves manual handling so a 'hands on’ approach is essential.

This role offers the opportunity of becoming your own "boss" and becoming a part of and making a mark on an immensely successful International business.

My client would like to hear from you if you have the personality to become a Trainee Manager / Assistant Buyer and have a positive 'can do’ attitude. Flexibility, a sense of humour, good IT skills and a clean driving license are all essential qualities for anyone joining this team. You might also have some commercial experience in a client facing role with perhaps a technical background. An interest in the automotive environment would be helpful but not essential, but good communication skills
and smart personal presentation are a "must". Whilst some form of qualifications would benefit you, demonstrating that you can learn quickly is far more important.
