We are currently seeking an ambitious and motivated graduate, keen to establish a career in business development. This role has been created by the promotion of the current Business Development Associate and provides an excellent foundation and stepping stone into a consulting role.

Our clients are an established firm in the process of extending their unique consulting service aimed at helping some of the world's largest companies to implement innovative reward strategies for the benefit of employees.  To assist them with this they wish to appoint an 'apprentice' to assist with business development and tender projects before progressing to a  wholly client-facing position.  The role offers structured professional development,  financial support in obtaining industry qualifications and a clear career path to a full consulting role and six figure earnings within 5 years.

The role will be varied and challenging from day one.  Tasks will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting experienced Business Development Managers in identifying potential corporate clients
  • Establishing contact with prospects through cold-calling and direct marketing
  • Managing prospect data, producing monthly MI for use by the management team
  • Assisting in the management of pipeline to convert prospects to clients
  • Creation of client presentations and Tender documents
  • Assisting in new business pitches

During initial training, which will last for 18 - 24 months, you will receive training covering technical knowledge, consulting, presentation and sales skills.  This will be delivered in-house and, potentially, attending client meetings to support your BDM.

Basic salary will be £25,000 plus bonus of up to £6,000 p.a..  Additional benefits include life cover and income protection.

We will be pleased to hear from graduates with a minimum 2:1 degree who have the ambition and drive to succeed in a demanding, client-facing role.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team will be essential.  We are seeking an individual who has the potential to work at a senior level within the Corporate Market so personal confidence and the highest standards of professionalism and integrity will be expected.  Some experience of employee benefits, financial services or sales will be an advantage.

If you feel you have the characteristics we seek and would like to know more about the role and the employer, please do call Sarah Williams for an informal chat or send us your details and we will be happy to make contact.
