Do you enjoy the variety of general practice but want to work in a larger firm? Are you someone who enjoys close client contact and a mixture of corporate and HNWI clients? Are you keen to study CTA or STEP and are you looking for progression to Senior Manager and beyond?
Our client, a “Top 40” firm can best be described as a “large, small firm”. Rather than the usual divisional structure of the larger firms, everyone in the firm are General Practitioners with a mixed workload of audit, accounts and tax (both corporate and personal). The firm believes in their clients having one point of contact who understands the wider picture of their needs, whether they are a corporate or a HNWI. The firm has a strong focus on private clients and many of the corporate clients are owned by these HNWIs. Sectors include: property, retail and construction with two of their largest clients being a Hotel Chain and a large Leisure Group (with estimated turnovers up to £50m). The clients are almost entirely London or Home Counties based.
They look for candidates with a strong general practice technical background and decent academics but on a more soft-skill side, the successful candidates tend to be adaptable, strong communicators (both with clients and internal staff) and commercially savvy.
You will have the opportunity to request that your portfolio is focused towards either corporate firms or private clients and the firm positively encourage their staff to continue to develop technically by studying a more specialist qualification such as CTA or STEP.

As the successful candidate you will:
- Be ACA/ACCA qualified with a decent academic record
- Have a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience
- Either be a generalist from a smaller firm who wants to move to a larger firm, or be from a larger firm looking to gain a wider variety of skills
- Have the confidence to manage your own portfolio of clients in an autonomous manner
