Experienced Theatre Porter required to provide a portering service of the highest quality for patients during the perioperative phase of care in the Operating Theatre of a private hospital in London.
General Responsibility
Provide a high standard of patient care and safety in the operating theatre
To appear professional and courteous at all times, whilst providing support to other departments within the unit
Check gauges and storage of gas bottles, changing them as necessary
Prepare equipment undertaking the appropriate checks to ensure the equipment is clean and safe.
Receive patient data and collect patient from ward area
Assist in the transfer and positioning of the patient
Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient including answering the telephone in a professional manor while taking and relaying accurate messages
Monitor specific items within the department, replenishing as required and recording as appropriate
Complete all written documentation in a timely manner
Assist in the cleaning of the appropriate area after the completion of the operating list
Assist is the safe and appropriate removal of clinical waste
Support with administrative tasks such as shredding, photocopying and replenishing of forms
Promote and ensure an environment conductive to the continuing prevention and control of infection for all staff, patients and visitors.
Be aware of and comply with all infection prevention and control policies and ensure low infection rates
Experience Required
For this position it is essential that you have:
1+ years experience as a hospital porter
Fluent English
Health and safety training
