Our clients Fleet Department in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is looking for a A Tender Desk Co-Ordinator

The Position

The Tender Desk Coordinator is responsible for optimal completion of the tender process for vessel repairs and modifications.

Other responsibilities:

  • Assess whether the specifications provided by the inspector are suitable for outsourcing.
  • Check the availability of docking slots and berthing space.
  • Prepare invitations to tender in collaboration with SMD and send them to the agreed shipyards.
  • Responsible for assessing the offers received and advising the Plant Department on these offers-
  • Negotiate and contract with the selected shipyard, in consultation with the Plant Department.
  • Act as a the contact for the Technical Superintendent of the relevant vessel and the shipyard throughout the process, from tender to contract.
  • Analyse the results achieved from the tenders.
  • Prepare and conclude framework agreements on commercial and legal issues in collaboration with LCD and VOP.
  • Follow up on various administrative tasks, including administering and evaluating shipyards, follow up on End Repair Reports and enter relevant documents into the internal database.

We ask for

  • Completed mechanical engineering programme at a higher professional level (HBO) or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience at a shipyard or shipping company.
  • Relevant commercial experience.
  • Detail-oriented team player with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good with figures and skilled in the field of contracts, with an ability to draw structured conclusions from a large amounts of data.
  • Very good command of the Dutch and English languages.
    Skilled in MS Office applications.
