Overall Job Purpose
The main purpose of the Telephone Account Manager role is to meet and exceed agreed sales targets from a defined panel of Intermediary customers by working closely with other members of the Regional Sales Unit (RSU). An RSU comprises a field based Regional Account Manager, an office based Telephone Account Manager and a Sales Support Executive who will work towards achieving a common sales target.
Telephone Account Managers coordinate their activities with the other two members of the RSU typically through proactive outgoing sales calls to strengthen relationships and promote the Pru's product proposition in the intermediary marketplace. They make a valuable contribution to the development of plans to maximise sales and will utilise cutting-edge CRM systems to create and maintain account plans, run campaigns and record account contact activity.
In addition, Telephone Account Managers have the opportunity to demonstrate their flair for sales by having their own small panel of development accounts for which they carry an individual sales target.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Contribute to the the delivery of the RSU sales target.
Deliver agreed sales target from their own small panel of accounts.
Achieve agreed activity targets.
Achieve agreed product mix objectives
Manage the persistency levels of the existing business of accounts on both panels
Build relationships with business owners and Registered Individuals
Work proactively with the members of the RSU to exploit opportunities
Ensure sales and marketing activity is aligned to wider business objectives of Prudential.
Ensure all appropriate internal product, technical, presentational and skills competency assessments required by Prudential are passed
Manage own development in conjunction with your manager.
Demonstrate the ability to positively articulate company products, propositions and marketing messages.
Strong aptitude for technology, including software applications, e-mail and CRM management
Treating Customers Fairly. Understands the FSA's TCF principles and how they apply to the role.
Compliance - ensure that you understand and adhere to Prudential's Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant regulatory policies.
Financial Controls - Operate within the expense budget.

The Telephone Account Manager will have a varying degree of decision making authority based on experience in role
Work in conjunction with the Regional Account Manager to ensure expenditure is within budgetary constraints, and all resources are applied effectively to build sustainable profitable relationships for the Pru Job Dimensions - Non Financial
Office - based
The focus of the role is to create new and manage existing relationships with a panel of accounts defined by the current segmentation
This is accomplished via the telephone focusing on key proposition areas in line with company strategy

Experience andSkills/Knowledge:
Certificate in Financial Planning (or equivalent) with the ability and desire to pass Diploma in Financial Planning
Proven telephony sales experience
Background in Pensions or Investments.
Strong sales focus
Detail orientated and well organised with ability to demonstrate excellent time management.
Self starter with high energy with the ability to work both individually and in a team environment to achieve an agreed business plan
Ability to prioritise workload
Demonstrate ability to build professional and influential customer relationships
Good negotiation skills to manage customer expectations and capitalise on sales opportunities
Strong perseverance and objection handling skills
Strong written and oral communicator
