Technical Support Representative
Temp to Perm
Basingstoke
up to £9.95 per hou
We are looking for experienced technical support staff member who can work independently and deliver great customer service. This person can work both days as well as swing shifts; he or she will work closely with the engineering department to support customers and help them troubleshoot network and email problems in a Linux environment. Must be willing to dedicate themselves to learning the product.
Strong technical understanding of one or more of the following protocols is required:
SMTP
HTTP/HTTPS
Proxies
SSL
SMB
DNS
TCP/IP
RIP
OSPF
Additional Skills/Requirements:
We are looking for an individual who possesses the following characteristics:
A strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems and technical configuration
A solid understanding of SMTP and common MTAs such as MS Exchange, SendMail , and Lotus Domino
Must have excellent networking and knowledge skills
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of TCP/IP, Routing, DNS/DHCP, LDAP Directories (Open LDAP, Active Directory, Novell E-Directory) & Databases (SQL or Oracle), Proxy Servers, Firewalls. as well as a solid understanding of Network Administration, Windows Server Operating System, UNIX (Linux or Solaris)
Experience and knowledge of working in support environments is essential. The candidate should be familiar with escalation processes and be able to manage all aspects of customer support issues
