Our client is currently on the lookout for an ambitious and dynamic Technical Support Engineer to join their company, a global leader in information security. Founded 25 years ago, they provide complete security using encryption technologies to protect communications, intellectual property and digital identities.
For this role, our client is looking for a well organised, self-motivated problem solver with a proven track record in networking and troubleshooting, if that sounds like you, read on.
As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing support to software companies and developers. Your primary duties will include investigation, reproduction and resolution of customer issues.
You'll have the chance to build a progressive long term career in technical support and gain further experience in the IT and software industry, working with a global firm offering scope for future progression.
Your duties will include:
- Providing speedy and satisfactory solutions to external global, technical customer support requests
- Providing solutions for support issues raised by the 1st level support team
- Preparing and delivering training to customers and partners
- Establishing customer requirements and providing customised solutions for different architectures
- Troubleshooting existing product issues and assisting in developing new product prototypes and releases
To be considered for this superb opportunity, you must have:
- A good technical background, including networking and troubleshooting etc gained within a commercial role, your studies or similar
- Customer service experience
As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll need to be an excellent communicator with fantastic customer service skills. A team player, you'll have good experience of providing first class customer support.
Whilst not essential, experience with any of the following programming languages or technologies would be beneficial to your application: C, C++, VC++, Java, C#, Web Services, HTML, XML, PHP, ASP.NET, SQL and/or DBA. A basic knowledge of networking or TCP/IP troubleshooting would also be an advantage.
Additionally, solid 1st and/or 2nd line technical support experience would be favorable as would a degree in computer science or IT. The ability to speak another European language in addition to English would be equally beneficial.
