Technical Support Engineer (Storage and Virtualisation), Solihull

A Technical Support Engineer who has a solid background in Storage and Virtualisation as well as 2nd and 3rd line support is required by our client to join their Service desk based in their head office in Solihull.

As a Technical Support Engineer you will join a hugely successful Microsoft Gold business who provides managed and hosted IT services for clients activities around the globe. In your role as a Technical support Engineer you will be required to deliver high quality technical support for the business and their customers, with a particular focus on Storage and Virtualisation.

Main responsibilities as a Technical Support Engineer will include:

• Utilising in house systems to provide 2nd and 3rd line support to clients
• Working closely with the service desk team to monitor customer systems and performance
• Communicating effectively with clients to ensure they are updated with the status of their request
• Travelling to client sites when necessary to provide extended service desk support
• Providing a level of services which meets SLAs and KPIs and identifying process improvements

Essential experience includes:

• 2+ years in a 2nd line and 3rd line support role
• Experienced working in a high pressured environment, meeting tight deadlines
• Skilled in producing high quality documentation for internal teams and clients
• Strong skills with SAN (storage Array) administration and IP Networks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
