Salary Indicator: £30,000 - £50,000
Location: Cardiff
 
We are currently looking for a Technical & Large Loss Team Manager for an expanding Insurer in the Cardiff area.  This individual will have a background dealing with high value Personal Injury RTA Claims in excess of £75,000 from either an Insurance or Legal background.  The successful candidates will be expected to manage a caseload of Personal Injury Claims whilst also carrying out a number of managerial duties.
 
 
Responsibilities
 
 
Ensure all claims on the Large Loss Book (claims in excess of £75,000) are reserved accurately
Ensure claims are handled correctly and are allocated to individuals who have the appropriate technical expertise and experience
Monitor and control the accuracy of reserves on individual claims within the section through an effective system of referral and delegation, including ensuring claims are correctly reserved for inflation
Ensure that the company works together with our panel solicitor to ensure the speedy and economic resolution of litigated cases
Monitor performance and output of handlers, ensuring the team meets agreed targets
Manage the workflow of the team resulting in the most efficient claims handling strategy
Give proper advice to those who refer technical queries
Provide regular technical guidance to file handlers and ensue that this advice is being actioned appropriately by the handler

To have expert knowledge and understanding of RTA, Article 75 and MIB issues
Keep up to date with legal developments affecting the department and ensure that information is effectively communicated at an appropriate level
