Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for :
? “Owning” the desktop support environment to ensure the highest levels of user satisfaction and experience.
? Providing proactive first and second line support for all users. Following up with users from incident to resolution,
? Designing and providing training for users covering the various IT Systems
? Investigating new technologies for the desktop environment
? Management of the desktop environment to corporate IT standards
? Compile and manage the register of companies IT assets.
? Ensure daily tools for the organisation are full operational and available through a serious of systematic checklists
? Provide training and induction for new users.
? The role requires availability to be on a call-out roster to ensure 24x7 support of their systems.
? Digital, desktop & mobile computing security
? Work with supervisor to assist in the preparation of strategy and budgets for the desktop environment
? Familiarity with Cisco networks and other VOIP environments.
? Procurement of all computing and digital and technology supplies as well as negotiating with existing and new suppliers

Person Specification

You will ideally have experience in the following areas.
? A degree in IT, Computer Science or Business is a must
? 5+ years of desktop support experience
? Certification s in Microsoft and Cisco are a big plus (MCP, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP)
? Prior work experience in a professional services or Financial services company is preferred. 
? Very high understanding of desktop support troubleshooting.
? Exposure to support market data systems like Reuters, Bloomberg systems
? Ability to offer world class phone support for remote and global users.
? A genuine passion for gadgets, mobile and portable smart devices 
? Ability to work in high pressure environments
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong team ethic.
? Personal values aligned with the companies and IT teams core values of commitment, integrity, humility, thoroughness and innovation.
? Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
? Able to communicate at all levels both written and verbal to facilitate accurate and timely report generation
? Able to manage, prioritize and take ownership of tasks and ensure communication with all parties.
? Fluency in English is a must.
? Interpersonal skills important in developing relationships with other key colleagues groups both internal and external.
