My client is a market leader in the design and manufacture of special purpose products which supplied worldwide. My client is synonymous with design innovation and working to strict attention to detail. Following significant growth over the last 3 years, they are now looking to hire a Technical Designer/Engineering Draughts person to work at their site in the North Yorkshire area in what is an excellent opportunity which will allow personal development and further technical training.
Working in a small team, and reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be required to design and modify special purpose products in a 3D CAD system, specifically Autodesk Inventor, and will be expected to take the product from the design brief/concept through to production. You will also be required to prepare all documentation during the design process. Other duties of this role will include allocating part numbers, compiling BOM, and costing and assembly of pre-production samples.
My client is looking for a bright and creative individual with some experience of sheet metal design/mechanical design. Electrical knowledge with experience of AC/DC will also be looked upon favourably. A degree or equivalent, or qualification to HNC/HND level in an engineering discipline with a good level of competence in 3D design software will be highly advantageous. This role involves travel and meeting with customers face to face, so good communication and presentation skills are essential.
This role will be supported by in-house on the job training and external CAD training and you must be self-motivated and keen to succeed.
