Main Purpose of the Role
- To help Hermes make effective decisions and exploit new business opportunities by providing expertise focused on defining, articulating and delivering change
- To understand and interpret business vision through the development of prioritised requirements
- To manage the delivery of IS projects and small change that contribute to the successful implementation of business change Projects.
- A proactive contribution to improving the effectiveness of the IS department and promotion of good practice throughout the department.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the initial scoping, investigating and estimating of project concepts and ideas
- Work with the change team to ensure successful management of projects
- Provide accurate and timely information on the governance and control of project delivery
- Work with IT services to ensure a successful day to day service delivery
- Support IS strategy and architecture to ensure maximum value-add of IS process
- Support the build of a performance based culture within IS which thrives on innovation and change
- Develop, maintain and communicate strong governance processes to measure quality of project delivery
- Work with all areas of the IS department to ensure technical support to all related change
Qualifications, skills, experience required
- Advanced knowledge of full project development lifecycle
- Advanced knowledge of potential sources of risk and their impact on project success
- Evidence of good and up to date business and commercial awareness
- Advanced level stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate familiarity with a variety of Business Analysis tools and techniques, such as data modelling, structured analysis & design, Object Oriented analysis & design
- Significant experience as a business analyst in a respected organisation, preferably within logistics sector
- Led business analysis and Project Management activity on small/medium projects
- Participated as a business analyst throughout the full life cycle of several projects
- Has modelled data and/or processes within an organisation and produced appropriate documentation
- ISEB accreditation in Business Analysis
- Experience of providing IS delivery within a Prince 2 or an Agile framework
- A strong projects and change background, ideally with experience in numerous project roles.
- A strong all round IT background including technical and applications
- Experienced in analysis, end to end solution design and estimation techniques
- Budget management experience of IT budgets over £250,000 pa.
