Joining as a Tax Senior based at the firms Truro office you will strengthen the team and increase the department's capacity to provide both compliance and advisory services in personal and corporate tax.
With solid experience in this area and keen to use your practical tax experience, this is an outstanding career opportunity with potential to develop within the firm.
You will be dealing with a broad portfolio of tax department clients, and supporting the accounts and audit department, providing tax compliance services in both corporate and personal tax with opportunities to develop into an advisory role and/or to specialise as the department grows.
Yourrole willcover: On-line filing of CT600s - monitoring, filing and control.
Reviewing intermediate CT600s prior to accounts being sent for approval.
Preparing more complex CT600s (for review by the Director of Tax).
Control, and preparation where required, of Forms 42 and related issues.
Control of, and preparation where required, of Forms P11D and related forms.
Preparation of self assessment tax returns to assist the Tax Executive, particularly:
more complex returns including those with capital gains and foreign aspects
Partnership returns
Trust returns.
Identifying advisory opportunities from compliance work.
Researching issues in support of other tax staff as directed.
Preparing tax advisory reports (for review by the Director of Tax).
Assisting accounts and audit staff with ta
You will be ATT/ACA or ACCA qualified and/or CTA qualified or intending to work towards the CTA qualification (study support considered).
The firm encourages study for further qualifications and will provide support where it is felt appropriate to do so. In particular, ATT and CTA are regarded as desirable qualifications for its tax specialists.
You will be confident, outgoing and a good communicator. You will have gained solid experience working in personal and corporate tax. The firm islooking for a well-organised, enthusiastic, self-motivated team player, with a thorough, systematic approach, the ability to work to deadlines and keen to build on their practical experience.
