Hours/Days

• Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri 3pm-6.30pm
• Tues x 2 Support Workers 3pm-7.30pm, 4pm-7.30pm

Pay Rate: £9.57 + £1.16 holiday pay

Start Date/Duration: ASAP - on-going

Our client is an 11 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy and a learning disability. He lives with his family in Staffordshire and is currently attending a school for Special Educational Needs.

Our client has a speech difficulty and therefore uses 'Makaton sign language’ so any experience of Makaton would be desirable however training is available. He is fully mobile and independent around the family home although will require assistance and prompting with dressing, washing, bathing and toileting. He can become easily frustrated and can have 'anger outbursts’ leading to impulsivity, so any experience of working with young adults in this situation would be an advantage.

We are looking to recruit a support worker to help and support the development of appropriate ways of managing his daily life and develop his strengths. You will research and introduce productive activities and promote social independence.

A consistent approach is essential and you will need to keep accurate written records.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

You will work under the direction of the case manager and be supervised on a regular basis. In addition to this, regular telephone contact will be maintained. All expenses incurred as part of the role would be covered. This position could be suitable for a trainee or graduate in a healthcare profession.

If successful, you will need to register with Unitemps in person for I.D. and CRB documentation checking. A CRB Enhanced Disclosure will be taken before commencement of employment.
