Support Worker - Bourne

Support Workers required

Location: Bourne, Lincolnshire

Hourly Pay: £9.57 + £1.16 holiday pay

Waking Nights: £10.70 + £1.30 holiday pay

Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week (worked over 1-3 days per week)

Duration: Ongoing role

Our client is a man in his mid 20’s based in the Peterborough area. He has an acquired brain injury sustained from a road traffic accident. He is not physically disabled, but as a result of the accident, lacks self esteem, has issues with short term memory, organisation and motivation. He also can use inappropriate language at times.

Our client lives in his own accommodation with support from a team of support workers,  and his parents  who live close by in the family home. He requires support to help motivate and encourage him to engage with the community and to take part in activities and days out, these include  cycle riding, gym ,swimming, watching motorsport etc. Prior to his accident our client was a mechanic, so has a keen interest in cars. The role will also include assisting him with day to day tasks such as planning and cooking healthy meals.

Due to the nature of the role and our client’s location it is essential that applicants have access to their own vehicle.  All business mileage and expenses would be covered.

Ideal candidates will be flexible and have a background  or be willing to understand brain injury  as knowledge in this area will help to understand our client’s issues and behaviour. Additional training and ongoing support will be provided on brain injuries by the Occupational Therapist & Psychologist working with our client.

Candidates do not necessarily need to have worked in a support role previously, however any previous experience would be an advantage.
