Support / Senior Desktop Engineer- Aberdeen- £28,000-£33,000

Desktop Support Engineer / senior 2nd line Engineer / Senior Desktop Support Analyst /Senior Desktop Support Engineer required for a permanent position in Aberdeen.

Cathcart Associates are working with one of Aberdeen's most successful IT solutions companies to recruit a Senior Desktop Support Engineer's for exciting new permanent position.

This a hugely exciting role for the right individual as my client is offering a fantastic package, plus training opportunities with future development, if you are willing to work hard and continue to learn, and have the ambition to grow within your career.

As well as this there will be a number of projects throughout the UK and internationally for you to get involved with from day one, hence some infrequent travel may be required, but it should be noted that travel is not likely more than 5% of the role.

Key skills/ Responsibilities:

** Carrying out operational desktop support, as well as taking the lead on Desktop support projects

** provide operational support for clients throughout the UK, and on an international scale.

** Infrequent travel to client sites

To be considered for this position, you must have experience with most, if not all of the following:

** Strong working knowledge of both Active Directory, Exchange Management console

** Great ITIL background with a heavy focus on responsive support and accurate logging of any technical fixes

** MS Windows Desktop- up to Windows 7

** Experience with Security groups, managing print server queues, and File shares

** Good working knowledge of SCCM

** Experience offering remote support to oil and gas companies

** ITIL v3 foundation or above

** Experience in supporting oil and gas specific applications would be a distinct advantage

** App-V experience would also be advantageous, but by no means essential

** Basic understanding of Networking and communications based on a Cisco Network

** Knowledge / experience with Exchange environments
