His/her main role is to provide first and second level technical support to the business. To assist with the support of the operation of the IT infrastructure (typically hardware, software, information stored on various media, and communications) required to support professional IT services and products to meet the needs of the business under the guidance of a Team Leader or the Production Manager. Includes the operation of the change process and the monitoring of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance. This includes the ownership of the problem calls, the diagnosis and rectification of technical IT faults or management of other technical resources to assist where appropriate.
Job Description
• To provide the first point of contact for all IT failures and service demands.
• To follow agreed processes and maintain records for the timely rectification of IT service failures, ensuring resolutions or workarounds meet agreed service levels.
• To keep users appraised of progress during the restoration of IT service failures.
• To investigate the root causes of IT service failures.
• To identify preventative/workaround improvements in support of service availability
• To work within service targets to meet business commitments for time, cost and quality.
• Handles movement of media to and from storage locations. Loads and unloads media onto devices and enters necessary commands to enable media to be used.
• Follows all relevant instructions and procedures relating to malfunction, safety and security.

We will also expect you to demonstrate
• A sound knowledge of Microsoft core office products.
• A working knowledge of IT hardware and desktop software.
• A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• HND or above in relevant subject and/or proven IT experience, with Windows XP client and TCP/IP networking experience gained in a support role.
• Previous experience in a customer focused role.
• Experience across a broad range of IT skills.
Whilst this post is based at Keynsham, the successful candidate will be required to travel and sometimes work out of hours.
