SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
ROLE
This growing company based in Somerset (turnover +£50m)
operating in the dairy sector has a newly created role that will be responsible
for managing the end-to-end supply chain.
The role will manage a small team who are responsible for
forecasting , stock control, purchase
and sales ordering.
The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of the
management team ensuring high service levels are maintained for all market
sectors (retail, wholesale and industry)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To
review and sign off all internal forecasts (daily/weekly/monthly/seasonal)proposed by
Commercial teams making recommendations and amendments.
- To
ensure that customer forecasts are reviewed and absorbed into own
forecasts with special note being made for expected sales promotions. - To provide
timely forecasts to parent companies with full supporting explanations of
changes and lead the communication with Third Party suppliers for the
exchange of forecasts. - To
manage all areas of supply chain including the placing of purchase orders
on suppliers and the receipt of sales orders via EDI. - To
manage all stock levels ensuring minimum write off of short dated stock,
with special note of volumes at Christmas. - To
manage stock levels of lines that require "ripening" in stock prior to
sale. - To
report on all service level KPI’s for major retail customers ensuring
maximum "First Time Match Rate" on invoicing. - To
work closely with suppliers on availability of new products with special
emphasis at Christmas. - To
monitor and report on external transport service performance and identify
goods receipt discrepancies with customers in a timely manner. - To
monitor and report on supplier service levels. - To
plan Christmas peak volumes and key dates with suppliers. - To
be a key figure on the internal committee that will implement a new ERP
system during 2014 and 2015.
SKILLS
Degree educated or equivalent qualifications
Proven experience and successful track record in supply
chain management
Excellent communication skills with a 2ND european
language desired but not necessary
Previous man management experience and team building
capabilities
Strong IT and Excel skills
