Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join our Student Services department.

Our Student Experience Unit is looking to recruit a full time Deputy Manager and full time Assistant Manager to join our vibrant team. Working within these roles you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage a breadth of projects working with a variety of different people
• Proactively identify and deliver service changes that directly enhance the experience of all University of Southampton students
• Support the Student Services Directors to deliver the department and University’s short and long term strategic aims
• Build collaborative relationships both internal and external to the University

The successful candidates will be self-sufficient, have excellent communication skills and have a proven track record of successfully delivering projects within time and budget. You will be able to recognise and present business critical issues and identify and implement solutions to agreed targets.  The successful Deputy Manager candidate will also have proven experience of line managing a small team of direct reports.

Student Services is one of the largest Professional Services departments in the University. Our services range from an Early Years Centre providing a childcare facility for children up to the age of 5 to our Residences team who manage over 4000 bed spaces in Halls of Residence , and some of the biggest and best leisure facilities in the area. We provide a 'one stop shop’ providing advice, guidance and information to University of Southampton students, as well as career advice, counselling services, support for disabled students, and help with VISAs and financial issues. The Student Experience Unit operates across all these services.

The salary for these positions will start from £27,578 however this may be negotiable depending on prior experience. Further benefits of this role include the opportunity to join the University’s pension scheme, 30 days annual leave and access to a number of University employer discount schemes.
