Our client is a small, independent consultancy engaged predominantly in structural building projects with some civil works. Formed in 1999, they have experience in all forms of construction and all sectors of development, specialising in industrial, commercial, leisure and listed building sectors. An opportunity has now arisen for a Structural Engineer to join their team.
If you have structural engineering experience, this is an excellent opportunity to join a professional, pro-active civil and structural engineering consultancy. You will also receive support in gaining your chartered engineering status.
As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing new building structures and alterations to existing designs.
You will work on a wide range of buildings, from small residential to new industrial, commercial single storey and low rise frames of steelwork, masonry, timber. You will also get involved in foundation design.
Joining a small team comprising senior and junior members of staff, you will be tasked with:
- CAD drafting using AutoCAD LT
- Conducting site inspections of work in progress
- Carrying out condition inspections and reports
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Structural engineering experience, ideally from a consultancy or steel fabrication design office
- Proficiency in using Fastrack Portal Design software to design efficient structural frames
- Good AutoCAD skills
Although not essential, an engineering degree would be advantageous to your application. Experience of using TEDDS and Building Designer software would also be beneficial.
