Job Title: Strategic Electronics Buyer

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Due to growth in recent years we are looking for a talented Strategic Electronics Buyer for our client based in West Yorkshire.

The salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• To design and manage the purchasing strategy to delivery quality, delivery and costs targets
•  Effectively communicate with and manage the supply chain necessary to delivery the above
• Prepare purchase schedule guidelines and place purchase orders/contracts as necessary
• Manage approved vendors list and control supplier categorisation
• Evaluate supplier performance
• Adherence to Purchasing Policy
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships
• Identify cost reduction alternatives and suggest improvements
• Negotiation and administration of procurement contracts
• Cost saving budgeting, targeting and reporting

Candidate Requirements:

• Extensive electronic component purchasing experience at a professional level
• Relationships with electronic component vendors and manufacturing service providers
• Project management
• Continuous cost improvement
• Team management
• Strong supplier management & development
• Advanced computer literacy
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
• CIPS qualified or working towards
