Based in the Southampton / Portsmouth area this global aerospace manufacturing business is developing is large scale procurement and supply chain division and seek to appoint a graduate calibre / degree qualified procurement professional with some proven experience within tactical and strategic contract negotiation / supplier management and sourcing within direct manufacturing commodity spends into a career development role.

This will be a fantastic career development opportunity for procurement professional at Buyer / Senior Buyer early career level looking to step up in to a large scale division and be involved in leading strategic contracts and supplier development.

Salary - £26000 - £35000 + benefits + potential CIPS qualification continued sponsorship (Dependent on Experience level)

This position will lead and drive the strategic procurement of a wide range of production commodities for internal manufacture and the identification and delivery of core outsourced component manufacture. In addition to this you will be responsible for project managing resourcing projects from start to finish in line with the Company’s strategy and processes.

The successful candidate will:

- Project Manage - carry out the full end to end sourcing & supplier selection process. Conduct Supplier Risk Assessments, Capacity Studies, Analyze quotations and costs breakdowns, follow the APQP process, Gate Reviews and Lessons Learned.
- Identify and initiate savings projects. Deliver cost reduction in line with agreed targets.
- Develop and deliver sourcing strategies across the total supply base for all spend within a category, working with colleagues and internal clients.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally to support the delivery of the Procurement’s objectives, ensuring colleagues throughout the organisation buy into and adhere to strategic sourcing.
- Work internally with colleagues throughout the organization up to Senior Management and Corporate level and externally with a range of suppliers internationally up to Managing Director level.
- Negotiate with suppliers and build strong relationships to effectively manage the strategic sourcing/buying process and associated controls.
- Deliver appropriate supplier agreements for all goods and services for given areas of responsibility to meet external spend targets, cost reduction targets and service &performance levels.
- Ensure the delivery performance of a range of suppliers ensuring that supplier's performance is monitored and corrective action is taken with suppliers not meeting the performance targets.
- Ensure the quality performance of a range of suppliers ensuring that product is supplied fit for purpose and is supplied in line with the company's requirements.
- Ensure that all procurement activity conforms to best practice and Company ethics, principles and processes.

Key candidate requirements –

- Proven Procurement experience at Buyer / Senior Buyer level
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject (Business, Law, Engineering, Aerospace etc)
- Current studying CIPS / MCIPS qualified
- Dynamic and developing professional seeking to build a long term career
