Our client is a world leader in Financial and Insurance systems and have recently undergone a business transformation programme that has made them the most sought after employer in South Wales. Due to massive demand for their product and services from international clients we are recruiting 2 SQL Server Database Developers.

The role will be to work in a dynamic and exciting SQL Server Support team based near Newport and support various existing clients with day to day queries and system configurations, the main area of expertise will be SQL Server databases so experience with debugging and troubleshooting issues with SQL Server 2005 or Oracle is essential.

Typical resolutions will require understanding SQL Server or Oracle Stored Procedures, Views and Functions as well as Triggers and Indexes within SQL Server 2005 or Oracle. Also exceptional communication skills to diagnose issues, discuss possible resolutions with customers, DBA's and Project Managers. Experience of dealing support resolution issues with both end uses and in house technical teams is needed as is the ability to document and assist in QA and UAT testing.

Any experience of .NET or Java environments is advantageous as is experience of Windows OS, Metadata systems and financial or insurance applications.
