Our client is currently looking for a SQL Database Developer to join their growing team in their Leeds offices.  Our clients data division provides an end-to-end solution for marketing departments including data for modelling purposes, database appending, campaign strategy, planning and implementation through to fulfilment and response analysis.

The Role:

To enhance and maintain the database systems working with team members to improve existing processes and develop new solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining existing ETL processes and developing new routines for new data contributors and sectors.
  • Creating and enhancing cleanse and validation processes.
  • Development of new database solutions from gathering requirements to final release.
  • Pro-actively improving data quality through bug-fixing and problem solving.
  • Developing SSIS packages and business reporting via SSRS.
  • Preparation of release documentation and system documentation to support changes.
  • Adhering to coding standards and source control.
  • Supporting the Production department as required.

Skills required:

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines and SLA’s.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to successfully manage internal/external customer expectations.
  • A keen attention to detail.

Technical: (essential)

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a SQL Server 2005/2008 developer.
  • In depth knowledge of TSQL including; stored procedures, triggers, functions, dynamic SQL, joins.
  • Experience of working with data and data transfer.
  • Knowledge of indexing and constraints

Technical: (desirable)

  • Knowledge of database administration fundamentals (backups, maintenance and integrity checks)
  • Experience of SSIS and working with Business Intelligence Development Studio.
  • Experience of SSRS
  • Experience of PAF
