This is a superb opportunity for a source codespecialist, with SVN and Tortoise expertise, to join the newly created Finance Systems team at Phoenix - the UK’s largest closed life & pension fund consolidator, currently in the midst of a major Actuarial Systems Transformation and organisational change programme.

  • Undertaking analysis of current code base, then proposing the approachand executing the subsequent migration into SVN repository
  • Documenting code management and branching/merger strategies, as well as producing user guides for related processes
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for SVN/Tortoise, involving the provision of guidance and training to technical leads in development teams

With a proven track record in defining code management and source code control best practices, backed by a sound grasp of financial systems and applications, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Expert level ability in the use of Subversion and Tortoise for source code management and configuration, including implementation on UNIX & Windows platforms
  • Strong change management and control skills, coupled with a solid understanding of release management and ITIL processes used to record, track and deliver change
  • A genuine and practical appreciation of software development lifecycles, ideally gained from a development background
