Description

Our client based in Abingdon is an international company seeking an experienced Solutions Architect who can demonstrate a strong background in the publishing industry as well as Project Management experience. On a daily basis you will be responsible for interaction with existing clients’ various constituencies to interpret and evaluate business requirements, and propose and guide the implementation of technology solutions. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of new publisher sites and enhancements to our industry-leading STM and scholarly content publishing platform.

Responsibilities

• Interact with existing clients’ various constituencies to interpret and evaluate business requirements, and propose technology solutions
• Define new features and functionality through the creation of functional specifications and interface prototypes
• Organize and lead cross-functional internal teams (engineering, quality assurance, operations) to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of new product developments
• Work closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure proper implementation of new development.
• Support the sales team with technical knowledge as required, including giving demonstrations and assisting on RFP responses.
• Speak at industry conferences and client meetings about industry trends, recent and upcoming product changes, and strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a directly related role (e.g., product management, solution architecture)
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated knowledge of strategic product development and relating client’s business strategy and needs into product design
• Experience with project management techniques or otherwise demonstrable experiences with managing new development to completion
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, in multiple time zones
• Knowledge of XML and software development
