Job Description

The purpose of this role is to manage junior paralegals handling their own caseload of preliitgation work and to maintain a smaller caseload of both pre-litigated and litigated disease work. 

Day to day responsibilities will include: 

? A varied case load of pre litigated and litigated work with the appropriate levels of
supervision. These will include cases where liability is disputed
? Hit, maintain and apply a consistent approach to all individual targets of financial
performance, realisation rates, settlement rate and average claim spend
? Support marketing and business development activity within the team 
? Assume responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on own caseload, including accuracy and timeliness of management reporting.
? Maintain a high level of compliance with the firm's procedures and strategies
? Maintain and develop a high level of technical knowledge.
? Handling confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols 

The successful individual will also be taking on Technical Supervisor responsibilities for the team / sub team, which are as follows:

? Reporting into the Performance Manager and Supervising Partner, building a
relationship & working closely to maintain team profitability & reduce indemnity
spend in order to meet client expectations
? Overall responsibility for the quality and performance of the team ensuring that
appropriate strategies are set reflecting the commercial reality of case value
? Level of technical ability above that of sub-team being supervised
? Previous supervision experience
? A high level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures
? Good people management skills including the ability to train, motivate, coach and
mentor team members at all levels
? Managing the teams performance, analysing annual targets and ensuring the team
hit and exceed target on a monthly basis
? Responsible for ensuring caseloads are optimized to maximise profit within the team and allocations are according to experience
? Analyse MI reports and KPI’s to ensure the team are performing and devise
strategies to drive improvement
? Ensure fee earner compliance with client SLA’s and KPI’s
? Provide Technical Guidance for the team
? Act as a point of reference for fee earners
? Hold monthly meetings with fee earner to assess performance
? Undertake performance reviews with the performance manager and implement the
career progression model within the team
? Ensure full Audit compliance across the team and responsible for preparing the team for client audits

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be:

? A solicitor / legal executive / paralegal with at least 3 years experience of disease claims and a keen interest and enthusiasm for injury work 
? Previous experience of dealing with Noise Induced Hearing Loss, Vibration White Finger and Hand & Arm Vibration Syndrome
