Founded in 1984, our client is a software decision support company that provides software for the long term monitoring of chronic disease. Their mission is to help make a significant and lasting contribution to chronic disease care on a global basis. An opportunity has now arisen for a versatile Software Engineer to join their team.
This is a superb opportunity for a software engineer to join a small dynamic company based on the edge of the Lake District and work with talented like-minded people.
As a Software Engineer, you will help in developing, supporting, selling and marketing their software systems to the highest standards. You will be writing code, constructing complex SQL against MS SQL Server, configuring and installing systems, and producing complex HTML formatted pages.
You will be working on our client's clinical decision support/patient tracking software. This revolutionary system is designed to help healthcare professionals help sufferers of long-term chronic diseases by alleviating the key frustrations of taking potentially harmful drugs.
You must be enthusiastic and exceptionally keen to be involved in our client's way of creating, implementing and supporting top class software. This is a challenging and demanding position as the application area is very complex and safety related.
Working alongside an experienced team, you will benefit from a comprehensive training programme and continued development. You will need to learn fast and be confident in dealing with our client's customers and colleagues.
To be considered for this role, you must have experience of the following:
- Writing programming code
- Constructing complex SQL against MS SQL Server
- Configuring and installing systems
- Producing complex HTML formatted pages
- Liaising with customers
You must also display a good knowledge of SQL databases, internet and intranet environments. Equally essential is knowledge of the computer hardware and software required to support web-based database systems. Additionally, you must display an understanding of the principles of good programming and database design and construction.
As a Software Engineer, you must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a team environment and reviewing others' work. A good problem-solver, you must also have the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical people.
Experience of working with safety-related software would be an advantage to your application, but this is by no means essential.
