Software Engineer , C#, C++, OOD, Delphi, Microsoft SQ,LMFC, .NET, GIS.

Role purpose  - Software Engineer.

Working at a key customer’s premises to support, maintain and develop geospatial and database software for a logistics applications. 

The successful candidate will be involved in the full lifecycle of the application from user liaison through to rollout. The role is embedded with the customer with support and line management from the companies  Software Team in  Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities  - Software Engineer.

A successful track record of delivering PC-based application and database solutions using Object Oriented design techniques..

Depending on the candidate’s skills, areas of focus could include:

  • Liaising with customers.
  • Application design and development using OO Techniques.
  • Implementation using Microsoft SQL Server, C#, Delphi and C++.
  • Ensuring the work is of a high standard.
  • Preparation of user and technical manuals.
  • Investigation of new techniques and technologies..

 
Key Skills / Experience       -  Software Engineer -  

Experience -Proven Track Record of creating complex PC Applications on a Windows Platform. Working directly with customers.

Qualifications - Software Degree or similar degree at grade 2:1 or above.e.g. MEng 

Technical Competencies - Software Engineer.

Job Skills (Key Skills required for this role 

  • Strong C# application programming skills.
  • Microsoft SQL Server software development.
  • Experience of Object Oriented Techniques.

The GUI does contain some legacy Delphi. Skill in this area are desirable but not essential..

Job Skills (Preferred) -

  • C++.
  • MFC.
  • .Net.
  • Working with Web Services.
  • GIS systems.
  • Use of issue tracking and configuration management tools.
  • IT networking and security.
  • Integrating Software Applications with Hardware.
  • Able to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Self motivated.
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident when working with customers

 

Additional Relevant Information       

The role will require UK Security Clearance, previous clearance is desirable but not essential

Travel within UK.to the companies Hampshire offices.
