Salary: £30,000 - £37,000

Job Summary

To maintain and develop the applications in accordance with business needs and provide support of the applications to ensure IT service is provided to a high standard of production and availability. To guide and support the IT Support Programmer as required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure all applications systems and data is maintained to the highest standard of continuity both during general day to day operation and during change request.
• To respond and resolve IT application requests and queries logged via the IT Support Help Desk in accordance to the priorities set and the associated SLA’s and in general provide guidance and IT support to users when called upon in respect of our applications.
• To organise workload to ensure priority is given to critical systems.
• To gain reasonable knowledge through internal training of the company business in order to contribute to the development of bespoke systems.
• To liaise and work with users, management and directors and provide guidance in the development and support of new and current applications in order to meet current and future business requirements.
• To project manage the development of applications as required by the IT Manager and assist where required with the installation, control and maintenance of the applications and databases
• To ensure any systems/applications are developed in accordance to SOPs
• To create documentation required by our business regulations to support data changes and database developments.
• To notify system owners and the IT Manager in good time of any software errors or data related issues which could impact on business
• To generate database queries to extract data to either reporting tools or for end users as guided by the Help Desk log or the IT Manager.
• Ensure all IT SOPs relating to application support and development are followed to deliver an IT service in accordance with the regulations governing our business.

Experience /Skills

Essential

• SQL Server 2005 or 2008, preferably 2+ years experience including Stored procedures, query and database design
• VB.Net 2005 (for GPM Development), Windows Forms, Windows Services, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), 3+ years experience
• C# .Net 2005, Windows Forms, Windows Services, 3+ years experience
• Full development life cycle including technical authoring
• Entity Framework, 1+ years experience
• Linq / Lambda, 1+ years experience
• NUnit automated testing, 1+ years experience
• Rhino Mocks, 1+ year experience
• XML familiarity, 1+ years experience

Desirable

• SQL Server Data Transformation Services / Integration Services / Visual Studio .Net 2005 Business Intelligence, preferable 1+ years experience
• Sql Server Reporting Services 2005 or later, 1+ years experience
• ASP.Net 2005 or later, 1+ years experience
• Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) Development
• Silverlight Development
• Sharepoint Development
• Knowledge of Gamp computer system validation standards (pharmaceutical industry)
• Knowledge of Scrum / Agile development methodologies
