Background
Our Client, who is based in Central London, is currently recruiting for a Web and Social Media Contractor for an initial period of 6 months. Our client's Online Communications Team is responsible for the strategic management and development of the Corporate online channels (including its website), social media channels (including its blog, YouTube, LinkedIn and Flickr channels) and their email marketing tools. This role provides an opportunity to play an active part in delivering their online presence in the build-up to, and during, the Olympic Games. The Online Team will be expected to maximise the publicity and marketing opportunities arising from the clients Olympic and Paralympics programmes.

Main Duties/ Responsibilities
The work of the Online Team is expected to evolve in response to the increasing demands of our clients Olympic activities. However the role is envisaged to include: • Assisting with delivering a full range of digital content across its corporate website and social media channels. This will include working with content owners throughout their global network to create, manage and update content. • Assisting with delivering all elements of our clients digital activity that form part of their Olympics campaigns. • Helping to develop a network of digital champions who can both i) promote Olympic work ii) be used after the Olympics to deliver more effective digital marketing content. • Assisting with the rollout of the clients social media training programme. This aims to embed the importance of social media into staff’s day-to-day activities

Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved
Delivering the digital elements of our clients Olympic activities This will be delivered through the use of their Digital channels including the Corporate website and social media channels (Blog, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube) as well as through third party partners

Skills/ Experience Required
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Internet and social media channels Excellent HTML skills, evidence of working with content management tools on a public website Knowledge of content management tools and related web applications (e.g. JavaScript, CSS, Photoshop, Acrobat, Web 2.0) on a public website Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills Good team-working abilities and a flexible and adaptable approach to work Ability to work to tight deadlines Flexible working is possible within the constraints of meeting business needs. Working outside standard hours is likely to be required during the Olympic Games period in order to provide digital coverage of our clients activities.

Formal Qualifications Required
Information Management qualification or equivalent
