B.Sc. Electrical & Electronic Engineering or HNC/HND  -   TP141Authorisation preferred

Experience           

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer, with a background of working with  consultants, manufactures of electrical equipment, or design contractors specialised in the areas of HV & EHV Substations. Detailed knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is essential:- -       Preparation of technical specifications and design verifications for electrical equipment such as:-

-       Protective Relays

-       Substation Control and Monitoring System

-       Protection Relay Panels

-       Control panels

-       Protection Signalling Equipment

-       Automatic Voltage Regulator Equipment

-       Transformer Tap Changing Equipment

-       Battery & Battery Chargers

-       LVAC & LVDC panels

-       Preparation of Key Line Diagrams-       Preparation of single line diagrams showing protection and metering-       Preparation of logic diagrams for closing and tripping of circuit breakers-       Preparation of protection panel schematics diagrams-       Preparation of control panel schematics diagrams-       Voltage selection diagrams-       Interlocking Diagrams-       Preparation of interface diagrams-       Preparation of cable schedules-       Preparation of termination schedules-       CT/VT Sizing calculations-       Protection relay setting calculations-       Battery Sizing calculations

-       Interface and coordination between equipments

-       Checking physical interfaces between equipments

-       Technical bid evaluations

-       Interfacing and co-ordination with other Disciplines

-       Familiarisation with International Standards

-       Use of Microsoft office packages within office environment would be useful

Short-term travel may be involved in UK and overseas for equipment inspection and assistance with equipment installation and commissioning.  This is an office based position in Croydon , Surrey and salary is very negotiable for the right qualified candidate with relevant experience in HV power.  An excellent benefit package is on offer for a permanent engineer..
