They are a leading provider of high-performance scientific instruments and solutions for molecular and materials research, as well as for industrial and applied analysis.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Service Support Engineer working from home supporting their clients based in London. The main purpose of this role is to provide expert hands-on technical expertise in all aspects of installation, commissioning, customer training, maintenance, fault finding and customer support. Within this role you will be responsible for dealing with instrumentation prior to installation, participating in final factory testing and liaising with customers and colleagues in the site planning process. You will also be expected to provide technical support and assistance and carry out procedures necessary to validate systems to certifiable standards.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and will be educated to PhD level or equivalent in an appropriate science discipline. You should have a solid technical or scientific background gained in industry and academia and you will have the capacity to take responsibility for the complete installation and commissioning of sophisticated instrumentation. Analytical in your thinking, you will have the ability to diagnose causes of malfunction and actively resolve customers service problems whilst communicating effectively at all levels. It is essential that you have good computer skills along with a full UK driving licence.
The ideal candidate will live within the M25 corridor although candidates that are prepared to travel in and around London will be considered. You will be based from home but will occasionally be required to travel to their head office in Coventry.
