WHAT THE SERVICE & SAFETY ASSISTANT JOB INVOLVES:
The Service & Safety Assistant role with UNITE is a varied and challenging one where no one day is the same. As a Service & Safety Assistant, working within a friendly and supportive team you will be playing a vital role in ensuring that customers living in our properties have a great experience.
Covering properties in North London, you will be working under appropriate supervision making regular patrols across multiple sites, identifying and resolving safety hazards and risks and responding to alarm activations handling any issues or incidents with the appropriate level of involvement from the emergency services, ensuring that all Unite procedures are followed, that Health & Safety legislation is adhere to, and the supervisor is aware of all serious incidents..
You will undertake any basic maintenance and building works as required and provide reception, customer service and safety support outside of normal daytime opening hours. Under appropriate supervision, you will conduct flat meetings, sales conversations and show flat viewings, and manage flat disputes. Dealing with our customers, you will be building up strong relationships - managing customer related issues and providing a decisive and effective response to customer complaints, escalating when necessary with the appropriate support and guidance. You will also maintain positive community relationships with neighbours, local communities and local authorities.
There are varied administration duties to keep you busy such as, maintaining UNITE`s information systems, completing the incident logs, conducting and logging room inspections, and any additional tasks as required.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
A genuine passion for customer service is the most important quality for us. Although you may not have worked in the accommodation, hospitality or retail sectors before, you will have had experience in a customer facing role. If you have previous experience of complaint handling and basic domestic maintenance, this would be an advantage, but it isn`t essential.
To make sure that we are able to serve our customers` needs we operate a flexible service and therefore it`s essential that you have a full driving licence, you`re able to work flexible hours, including nights, days and weekends as required, and to take part in a rota.
It`s really important to us that you thrive on understanding, empathising and delivering against customer needs and are able to communicate effectively with people. With so many customers and such a variety of work the environment is fast paced and exciting, so we need to know that you are able to work at pace, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy. Personal time management and prioritisation skills are key in this role and whilst self-motivation and working on your initiative are crucial, it`s also important that you are a first class team player who possesses a positive and collegiate attitude.
Our administrative processes are really important too, so it is essential that you are computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office.
