Role Description

Position

Senior Web Developer (.Net and PHP)

Software Development

Assist in the development of requirements and technical specifications as required by the project and as agreed with the Lead Developers

Adherence to development standards

Hands on PHP development and architecture, XHTML and HTML4-5, CSS, CMS configuration, MySQL, Web Services, LAMP configuration.

To assist the system administrator with setting up Apache and configuring PHP environments

Hands on PHP architecture, development and support, XHTML and HTML4-5, CSS, CMS configuration, MySQL, Web Services, LAMP configuration.

To assist the system administrator with setting up Apache and configuring PHP environments

Hands on .Net architecture, development and support, HTML 3/4/5, CSS, Ajax, CMS (current Alterian/Immediacy and Ektron) configuration, MSSQL, Web Service 

Skills/Experience:

  1. 3+ years commercial/agency experience of developing and delivering PHP4/5, ASP.NET with C#, high level DHTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery solutions for significant brand clients.
  2. Experience of SilverStripe, WordPress or other PHP CMS platforms
  3. Experience of Ektron, Alterian (Immediacy) CMS or other .Net CMS platforms
  4. 5+ years commercial/agency experience of developing and delivering ASP.NET with C#, high level DHTML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Jquery solutions for significant brand clients.
  5. Knowledge of
  6. Knowledge of MVC frameworks such as Code Ignitor, Zend Framework and Symfony.
  7. Very strong use of Object orientated practices, to facilitate the re use of modular code with other projects
  8. Excellent HTML/CSS coding to web and accessibility standards and best practices
  9. Effective verbal and written communication skills and good technical writing abilities (ie specifications)
  10. Strong Knowledge of maintaining Linux , Apache and MySQL
  11. Demonstrated application of web and coding best practices and standards.
  12. Knowledge of creative process and ability to convert design into highly usable Web applications.
  13. Experience in delivering high quality, highly usable websites to web and accessibility standards.
