Senior Tax Manager/Director

Location: North Somerset

Salary: £45,000 - £75,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Tax Manager / Director within a well established West Country Accountants and Financial Advisers. Our client is looking for an ambitious tax manager who is looking to take the next step in their career and take on an influential role in a large firm of accountants.

Tax planning will be at the forefront of your role working with both your own client portfolio and dealing with technical tax issues for clients of partners and other staff.

The ideal person for this role will have a strong private client background and will have excellent technical knowledge as well as wide practical experience. The ideal person will also be able to think outside of the box and offer creative solutions and advice to clients.  Expertise in a specialist area such as Trusts would be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Producing tax solutions through knowledge of UK and international tax so clients can manage their tax affairs in the most effective way
  • Handling a varied and extensive portfolio of Commercial and High Net Worth clients.
  • Corresponding and negotiating with appropriate tax authorities
  • Building and managing junior team members, supervising and reviewing work, coaching and developing the team
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of clients

Skills:

  • CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified ideally from an active larger firM
  • Proven experience of building successful business relationships
  • Up to date accounting and tax knowledge
