We have a fantastic opportunity to work for a well established multi-disciplinary consultancy in Bristol as a Senior Sustainability consultant. The successful candidate will get to work on a range of exciting projects and become part of a fast growing team. The role is perfect for candidates with an established background in the sustainability sector and with hands on experience of preparing and implementing sustainability strategies.

It is also important to demonstrate a strong educational background with a relevant technical degree in either engineering or environmental sciences. In return the company offers a competitive salary and benefits package as well as a great working environment and career progression.

The Role:

The position of Senior Sustainability consultant is a varied role which involves working closely with both internal teams and the external client to ensure that sustainable projects are delivered to the highest standards from inception to completion. It will be an important part of the team and also require supporting/mentoring junior staff members and being a key representative at client meetings.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

Undertaking a range of energy engineering and sustainability consultancy duties
Ability to work with and have an appreciation of the integration of other construction professionals’ requirements for the project
Gaining an appreciation of UK and EU regulations, design guides, etc to ensure that work undertaken is relevant and applicable
Developing and producing: energy strategy reports, sustainability strategy reports, energy demand assessments, CHP/renewable energy studies, BREEAM assessments and guidance
Ensuring open communication among all project team members ensuring feedback is provided and acted upon efficiently in a timely manner
Undertaking site visits, as necessary, for the fulfilment of project duties
Reviewing and commenting on design proposals by others
Attending and representing the firm at design team meetings, design workshops and client meetings

Person Specification

Degree qualified and having completed several major projects from inception to completion.
Working towards Chartered status
Ability and commitment to effectively deliver to demanding timescales
IT literate with a technical understanding of relevant IT packages i.e. Amtec, Hevacomp, IES and Microsoft office
Able to positively work as part of a team and motivate junior team members
Experience of working to timescales and deadlines
Good organisational and planning skills
Able to develop effective relationships with well developed interpersonal and influencing skills
