There are two children and families units covering a geographical area in the Borough. Each unit is responsible for operating a discrete duty and assessment service and the longer term work is allocated to the section of the
1.Main Duties include To assist and direct social workers in assessing requests for services and investigating reports that children are suffering or are likely to suffer significant harm.
2To chair meetings, including reviews and planning meetings, to ensure care plans are in the best interests and safety of the child.
3.To make recommendations to the practice manager and the unit manager about the need for legal action about a child.
4.To undertake regular audit of supervisee's case files. To ensure quality assurance of work across the team. Keep the practice manager informed of social workers' performance in these areas.
