My client is one of the UKs largest Food Manufacturers producing a wide range of chilled products and they are looking to recruit a Senior Product Development Manager based at their site in Cambridgeshire.

The purpose of the role is to manage the development and delivery of products from concept through to launch. The role will also include effectively planning the teams time and resource to deliver against the expectations of that division.

On a day to day basis the successful candidate will:

Manage all NPD concept development projects with chilled products across the different sites within this division.
Ensure management of all NPD projects from receipt of project brief through to concept sign off using appropriate NPD tracking tools
Setting up and leading project teams, coordinating project meetings and producing project meeting minutes.
In line with business strategy and an increased understanding of the customer to develop best in class commercially viable propositions which meet the companys margin hurdle rates.
To ensure that all products are costed accurately using the costing system at each stage of development highlighting and taking action where necessary.
Present fit for purpose products and packaging with costings at phase 2 and 3 to the relevant retailer teams.
To support the development team with work, presentations and detailed record keeping where required.
Monitor new raw materials ensuring technical, commercial and operational suitability is met.
Liaise with the packaging team for timely development and delivery of suitable packaging.
To keep the development critical path on track, managing and guiding internal and external customers to ensure that tasks are completed on or before time.
To manage the customer in the delivery of the critical path ensuring that slippage is managed in a timely manner.
Manage a team and develop them
Manage the budget and KPIs
Manage and maintain a customer relationship

The ideal candidate will have experience with working in a development role at a senior level, and have experience working with chilled products. They will have customer experience and have worked in a managerial level previously.
