My client is one of the UKs largest Food Manufacturers producing a wide range of beverages and they are looking to recruit a Senior Product Developer based at their site in Norfolk.

The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver best in class commercially viable products from approved product brief to concept sign off supporting the NPD Product Development Manager / NPD Controller

On a day to day basis the successful candidate will:

Work to generate product concepts in line with NPD Briefs
Work in anticipation of briefs utilizing previous experience and capturing market leading trends from restaurants and other sources.
Quarterly present to the team forward thinking trends and flavours to stimulate NPD activity.
To formulate product concepts in line with specific briefs, ensuring factory capability is considered
Use the costing tool to ensure product concepts are developed to a target raw material cost
Source new raw materials and specifications in conjunction with procurement and technical
Ensure that the specifications are checked by the technical team before the ingredient is used
To prepare / co-ordinate product samples and recipe / raw material / nutritional information for customer presentations
Carry out, document and action conduct taste panels, comp shopping and product benchmarking of concepts versus competitor products if required
Ensure that customer codes of practice are adhered to
Assist the Product Manager and or Senior Product Developer with internal concept meetings and customer concept presentations as required
Plan and organise workload to achieve demanding deadline
Create and maintain product files for all new products in accordance with procedure
Achieve working at pace & delivery of smart objectives
Ensure good housekeeping is adhered to in all development areas
Complete all relevant and necessary paperwork accurate and in a timely manner
