Senior New Products & Special Projects Underwriter

Job Description:
 
All elements relate to Personal Lines only:
• To generate new proposition ideas to support the development of ’ Underwriting capability and footprint.
• To recommend the pricing, underwriting and rating structure of new products.
• To project manage the development of the new products through to launch.
• To set up and undertake standard Underwriting and Pricing functions to support and develop the product following launch until such time as the product is designated as BAU
• To undertake any strategic or special projects across the Underwriting Dept as identified and directed by the Underwriting Director or Head of Underwriting Development.
 
To recommend the technical pricing for the new products.
 To undertake any special or strategic projects within the Underwriting Department and /or assist the Motor, Home or Travel teams on ad hoc projects as directed by the Head of Underwriting development.
 
 
The jobholder will have 2 direct reports and will be responsible for managing the New Product Development team.
 

                                                                   
Essential qualifications/experience                             
 
• Graduate calibre in mathematics/statistics or a business related subject.
• Proven experience in a personal lines Head Office environment (or similar) in a senior underwriting and/or pricing role is essential.
• Previous experience should include; product pricing and development within the personal lines market, involvement in new product development, specifying product changes for IT.
• Confident in working with senior managers and Directors.
ACII preferred.
