These are exciting times and as a result of our growth we are now looking to recruit for an experienced Senior IT Programme Co-ordinator to join our busy and well established team in Leyland. Reports to: IT Demand Management Office (DMO) Lead

Job Purpose:

The Programme Coordinator will work closely with IT and the Operational Efficiency team to support in the governance, monitoring and control of all projects and other IT demand. Key to this role is facilitating and enabling communication between all team members and ensuring DMO held information relating to relevant projects is accurate. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage scheduling relating to overall project portfolio including resource analysis across IT
  • Identify and mitigate high priority risks, issues and cross programme dependencies
  • Attendance and contribution to progress meetings with the wider IT and Operational Efficiency teams
  • Monitor and track realised benefits in conjunction with the teams
  • Support in the validation of business cases and other key project documentation to ensure continued business justification and strategic alignment throughout a project’s lifecycle 
  • Monitor and track projects against forecasted costs and benefits providing accurate reporting on any variances
  • Coordinate communication briefings to the entire IT team to provide updates on DMO innovations and on-going projects.
  • Coordinate communication areas to ensure consistent messages are being deployed (e.g. via the intranet, SharePoint, attendance to meetings, articles in the Review and weekly bulletins)
  • Research and input into policies, templates, toolkits and the teams operating model
  • In association with all project staff ensure all project plans, Highlight Reports, risks & issues registers are maintained and published in a consistent and timely manner
  • Support in the on-going design and development of the key Demand systems and processes such as the Project Portfolio Management system
  • Develop and manage relationships with the business and internal customers
  • To carry out such other duties as may reasonably be allocated, after discussion with postholder’s line manager.

Typical Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Educated to Degree Level (in an appropriate field) or time served in equivalent post.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to maximise the acceptance of change within the teams with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, business stakeholders and senior managers
  • Self-motivated and able to meet agreed objectives on own initiative.
  • Adaptable, flexible and resourceful in work.
  • Excellent team-working and work-sharing skills.
  • The ability to work co-operatively under pressure.
  • A proven track record in delivering excellent customer service
  • A sound knowledge of MS software, particularly MS Project and SharePoint and ideally MS Project Server 2010
  • Programme reporting including financial reporting and statistical analysis
