Senior Commercial Finance Manager - FMCG experience required

Our client, a well-known presence in the FMCG market, has an exciting opportunity for a talented and self-motivated senior commercial finance manager to join their business. The role is to be responsible for providing financial data to agreed profit levels, also giving credible recommendations to deliver the required profits.

The ideal candidate will have business partnering experience, as this role is core to the relationship between commercial finance and sales, with the Sales Director being one of the main stakeholders.

The role requires a strong character with proven management skills to effectively manage a busy workflow, dealing with the day to day management of two staff, bringing added value to the business and able to utilise data to provide sound decisions in terms of trends, issues and business growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing accurate & timely data and commentary, including liaising closely with the rest of the team to ensure information is correct and collated.
• Daily management of a team of 2 direct reports.
• Influencing the team’s decision making, negotiation of terms, pricing and promotional plans.
• Working with the rest of finance to deliver the full picture in terms of P&L performance.
• Rolling forecasts with detailed month end reporting of performance and account marketing, overhead spend review, etc.
• Profitability analysis with recommendations to stakeholders in the business.
• Deputise in the Commercial Finance Controller’s absence.

Requirements

• CIMA/ ACCA (or similar) qualified
• 4-5 years post experience
• Experience in FMCG preferred
• SAP an advantage
• Leadership skills
• Proactive, professional communicator
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Proven track record of influencing decision making at all levels.
