The Retail Pricing team is part of the broader Products and Customers team within the retail bank. The function held initial responsibility for building a market leading pricing capability across retail products. The team now continues to drive and refine this capability with a greater focus on future innovations and the changing regulatory environment.

Purpose

Be an integral member of the Pricing Design and Experimentation team whose objectives are to improve the bank’s revenue profile and generate shareholder value. This is achieved by championing a market leading pricing capability from methodologies and principles through to the delivery and application of pricing to the front line

Day to day the team focuses on designing and deploying granular pricing architecture based on predictive modelling insights. This architecture optimises the pricing outcomes including margin improvement and/or balance growth while also maintaining customer satisfaction.

A key strategic priority moving forward is the application of risk based pricing (RBP) within the credit cards portfolio. The major accountability of this role will be to drive this initiative. This will involve-

• Design and execution of pricing experiments in order to gather data regarding the impact of RBP
• Provide commercial oversight into the predictive modelling development process which will produce appropriate RBP models
• Design and implement appropriate pricing architecture in order to execute RBP within the Credit Cards

Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of and experience in risk based pricing (preferably cards, loans experience considered), ideally focussing on commercial design and execution of strategies.
• Strong management and relationship building skills. Role will need to drive the RBP agenda on a day-to-day basis; this will require effective working relationships with a diverse number of areas across the bank.
• Understanding of predictive modelling for RBP and the associated development process, synthesising of insights and practical execution within day-to-day business operations
• Strong customer focus
• Excellent strategic thinking and business acumen.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong ability to move beyond immediate team and engage stakeholders
• Business related degree (commerce, economics, marketing, finance, business)
