We are a global, billion dollar diversified financial services company looking to double in size and scope.

Role Function:

Works with Management and/or as part of a project team to help produce brand new solutions, solutions based upon third-party applications, or solutions that interact with existing legacy systems. Is aware of and follows industry best-practice when specifying business change.

Working closely within the overall IT development team, participates in requirement definition, for the design and development of current POS, Back Office, Online and Call Centre systems across the network and corporate office user base.

Works with the Business to identify and specify business requirements and business processes, and translates these requirements into specifications (to include Use case, Activity and other UML diagrams as required). 

Works with QA Analysts to identify and assist in the generation of testing plans and assist with automated testing in line with our Test-Driven Development methodology. Facilitates and assists in user Acceptance Testing with the business.

Works with customers and project managers to deliver quality, effective software regularly, in line with our Agile Development process.

Helps diagnose the root causes of systems issues using their problem solving skills.

Helps research and evaluate potential technical solutions to business problems.

Qualifications and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar and at least five, typically eight or more years professional development experience, preferably with some gained in the Financial Services sector. (Note: a greater length of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of working directly with customers and of collaboration within a multi-disciplined team. Good judgement and experience of prioritising and working to tight deadlines.

Ability to learn fast and share knowledge, experience and best practices with colleagues.

Professional experience using Microsoft tools and technologies.
