The Company
A household name High Street retailer is now seeking a qualified Business Analyst to provide commercial analysis of competitor activity and market economics to help set company strategy and to drive business profitability.
The Role
This is a high profile role which will involve the management of a team of 2 Analysts. You will focus on the companys competitors and the external market with the responsibility for foreshadowing changes in the market environment before they occur and developing actionable strategies to ensure that short and long term profitability is managed, maintained and enhanced. This will be achieved through developing in-depth insights into competitor strategies, the wholesale market, the economic landscape and a sound appreciation of the business strategic levers. You will produce analysis of competitor pricing strategies as well as analysing the potential impact of current market conditions on customer buying activity. The role interfaces with senior management stakeholders and you will be communicating with and presenting to Board members.
The Person
This is a high profile role for high potential individuals. A strong academic track record is preferred although relevant experience would compensate for a lack of a degree. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who combines excellent technical skills with strong financial analysis experience and the ability to effectively communicate the commercial impact of your analysis to senior internal stakeholders. A high level of proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint is required whilst previous management experience would be advantageous. It is expected that you will have a background in commercial financial management, commercial analysis or corporate finance and a demonstrable track record of adding value in a business-facing role.
