SEN Teacher

Part of Sussex Educare, Woodland Grange is an independent special school for boys and girls aged from 7 to 19 years.

Our school provides full time education for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, specialising in teaching students who are excluded or difficult to place in mainstream provision, many of whom are statemented and/or 'Looked After Children'.  The majority of our students are resident in our children's homes within the school grounds.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and skilful SEN teacher with enthusiasm and confidence to join our team ideally starting after the half term break.  You should be able to develop and adapt traditional teaching and learning strategies to meet the individual needs of students and be competent to deliver lessons in a range of subjects, particularly science and maths.

If you are an SEN teacher with experience of working with students with behavioural difficulties in a classroom environment we would like to hear from you.  Ideally you will have worked in a special school environment before, but this is not essential for the role.  Most importantly you should have a desire to work in this challenging yet rewarding field, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with challenging students.

Due to the location of the school, a driving licence and own transport is essential.
