A permanent position has arisen for a primary school teacher in a Special Educational Needs School in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The small primary school mainly teaches children with moderate learning difficulties and physical disabilities. It boasts state of the art facilities and each child benefits from a tailor made therapeutic programme.

Job Description
Depending on the suitability of the candidate, the position could start as early as Easter with working hours of 8:15 - 5:00, and ample holiday.
Role specification:
- To ensure high quality education for all pupils in the designated class.
- Plan effectively for a highly individualised and multi-sensory early years curriculum to ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to reach their potential.
- Participate with other colleagues in the development of appropriate materials and schemes of work.
- Coordinate the identification and review of learning needs and provision for pupils with the Headteacher, educational psychologist and therapists.
- Ensure the appropriate deployment of the Learning Support Assistants and the use of resources.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:
- have a proven track record teaching in the primary SEN environment.
- have worked with children with MLD and physical disabilities.
- have created development stratagies for individual pupils
- have patience, empathy and thoroughly enjoy teaching.
The successful candidate will also ideally have:
- A working knowledge of Makaton
- First Aid and Health & Safety Qualifications
