Due to continued growth my client a global bank has a further opening for a Network Security  and Monitoring Solutions Engineer in Malta.



Job Description

Overall Purpose: To provide input and design to network infrastructure solutions and will have a breadth of knowledge across infrastructure components with key experience of Network Management and Monitoring solutions. Design and oversee changes to the network management infrastructure. Interfacing with internal stakeholders. Technical administration and documentation. Be an active participant within the network solutions engineering team.

Functional Accountability: Assist the Network Engineering Team (network evaluation, design, development, standards, compliance etc) to ensure that network infrastructure initiatives adhere to the network management roadmap. Design and document network management system configurations and promote the use of Technical Standards, Procedures and Best Practice ensuring compliance.

Person Specification


General: A breadth of network knowledge, support and deployment and possibly design knowledge. (Cisco configurations, vlans etc). Broad knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, IP address allocation internal routing protocols and in particular DNS. Ability to use a packet analysis tool to dissect TCP/IP.

More specifically: Solid understanding of Network Management/Monitoring Practise. Good knowledge of various Network Monitoring toolsets.  Proven understanding of SNMP and understanding of Netflow processes & tools. Netflow traffic analyser. Understanding of the use of LAN/WAN probes and their function. Any knowledge of Capacity monitoring and management would be useful.


Ideally candidate will posses at least 4 years of prior experience working in demanding mission-critical IT projects. An engineering or IT-related degree together with relevant  professional certifications will be considered as assets.
